Lancia queues up three all-electric releases until 2028

Lancia, premium car marque and part of Stellantis Group, will be focusing on three electrified models in the coming seven years, CEO Luca Napolitano said in an interview to Automotive News.

Taking example from Mercedes-Benz, the Italian brand will prioritize profit margins over sales volumes, as most luxury-oriented brands tend to do nowadays. Europe – Germany and France in particular – is going to be its main target market, followed by Spain, Belgium, Austria and the northern trio. All in all, the company plans to open around 100 new dealerships in 60 largest cities across Europe while also developing online sales.

The Ypsilon model pictured here will be the first one to go into its next generation. It will hit the market in three years in part-electric and all-electric versions. A battery SUV is due out two years after that, and a compact electric hatchback is set to reach the showrooms in 2028.

Stellantis intends to use as many as four unitized platforms to build its cars upon, relying on specialized solutions for affordable compacts, premium cars, sports cars, and body-on-frame utility vehicles and trucks.
