Land Rover will present the new midsize Range Rover Velar crossover on the first of March. The British car maker promises that Velar will become the most vanguard model in a line in which it will take the place between Evoque and Sport.
New Range Rover Velar represents the coupe-like crossover and is based on the easy aluminum IQ [Al] platform, which is already used in XE and XF sedans and Jaguar F-Pace crossover. Velar, perhaps, will also borrow motor range from the last: two-liter supercharged "fours" of the Ingenium family with generated power of 180-240 hp, three-liter V6 turbo diesel with 300 hp, and also the compressor petrol engine with capacity of 340- 380 hp. Experts do not exclude that there will be fully electric version of the crossover in future.
After the premiere the car will be brought to the motor show to Geneva on the 1st of March, and the model will appear at car markets closer to autumn. Such cars as Mercedes GLC, BMW X3 and Audi Q5 will become the main competitors of Velar.
