Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), a special division of British Jaguar Land Rover company, presented a special modification of Discovery model, created specifically for the Austrian branch of the Red Cross. The novelty is called Project Hero. The drone is particularly singled out among another additional equipment, it will facilitate the work of rescuers in difficult areas.
Unmanned drone is usually on a special platform on the roof of the car. The platform is equipped with magnets in order that the drone could land even on a moving off-road vehicle. Project Hero is also equipped with sockets, a special sliding platform of a luggage carrier with an antiskid covering, flashing indicators and radio equipment. There are also additional fixtures for installing the necessary rescue equipment in the interior.
Land Rover cooperates with the Red Cross since 1954. British delivered about 120 cars to the organization. New Project Hero will begin to save people since June of this year.
