The automotive giant Jaguar Land Rover has registered the trademark “Road Rover” for its future releases. This is what the all-electric vehicle, which will debut at a motor show in the USA late next year, will most likely be called.
Preliminary estimations place the price of the environment-friendly vehicle north of €100,000.
The manufacturer has confirmed that the Road Rover family will be all-wheel-driven. It should offer around 500 kilometers in terms of driving range, although this is not official yet. It will also likely be able to reach 100 km/h (60 mph) from a standstill in 5.5 seconds or less.
Along with the all-electric Road Rover, the company is working on the next generation of its XJ sedan. Both vehicles get two electric engines and an aluminum chassis.
The English car manufacturer plans to eventually switch its entire Land Rover/Jaguar range to electrified or fully electric drivetrains. The switch should begin in early 2020.
