Cool & Vintage, a Portugal-based car tuner that specializes in restoring and tuning Land Rover vehicles, has unveiled a unique art car based on the Defender 110 chassis. The SUV proudly wears a Lisbon-inspired art by local artist Vasco Costa. So why can’t you see it, exactly?
That must be because the graphics lies hidden from public view on the bottom of the vehicle. The atelier’s logic works like this: you don’t need to wave a work of art around, art is an intimate concept that has to be protected. Should the owner of the car really want to show it to someone else, all he or she will have to do is lift the vehicle using a regular hydraulic lift.
The unusual project uses a 1983 Land Rover Defender 110 as base. The car comes equipped with a V8 engine, Fox reinforced suspension parts, a removable hard top, a Marshall cordless audio system, and an air conditioner.
The team said it drew inspiration from the iconic BMW art cars while designing this particular Defender.
