Restored 1989 Land Rover Defender fetches U.S. $145,000

For whatever reason, restored classical Land Rover Defender models are still hugely popular in the USA. Once modernized and customized, they can sell for six-digit sums, and it is not like the demand is low.

This particular 1989 Land Rover Defender (D110) has been restored and tuned by the team over at Arkonik. The car gained a Santorini Black body paint, dual Cat LED headlights, a silver-tinted radiator grille, KBX wing top vents, and a set of 18-inch Kahn Defend 1983 rollers dressed in BFGoodrich T/A KO2 rubber.

The car also sports a front diff guard, a spare wheel with the Arkonik logo on the housing, LED-based taillights and a sunroof.

The interior of the car uses black leather upholstery with diamond-pattern stitching. The ceiling is draped with Alcantara, and the new steering wheel is rimmed with wood. Some of the equipment highlights include a modern audio system with USB ports, climate control, and foldable seats in the trunk area.

The Neo D100 by Arkonik comes powered with a 3.5-liter V8 engine and costs U.S. $145,000. The last point is somewhat irrelevant, though, since a North American customer has already bought the 30-year-old car.
