E.C.D Automotive Design, a U.S.-based Land Rover Defender customizer, has pushed out its latest work. Called the UVC D130 Project Barge, the car features a completely redone exterior, interior, and powertrain.
It comes pained White Diamond Pearl with a Nara Bronze roof. The tuner has replaced both bumpers, the front grille and the headlights with their aftermarket counterparts. It has also swapped the stock wheels out for a set of spectacular 20-inch Kahn Mondial forged rims by Kahn Design. The same British tuner provided the custom exhaust system with crosshair-shaped tip inserts.
That said, the most obvious and perhaps also the greatest highlight of the entire build comes in the form of an open truck bed lined with expensive Brazilian teakwood. The lining does look awesome, but whether it is practical is a separate matter. Some of us are concerned that it will quickly lose its aesthetic appeal after a few months of actually carrying stuff in it.
The unique Land Rover Defender comes powered by a 6.2-liter Chevrolet LS3 V8 engine linked to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Inside, the Barge has plenty of cocoa-tinted Nappa leather upholstery interspersed with coppery accents. The instruments and the center console give off certain retro vibes, but the tech is state-of-the-art. There is a new audio system, a backup camera, a satellite navigation system, and even a remote engine start feature.
