Classical body outlines, removable soft top, potent V8 with 430 hp / 320 kW under the hood, and leather-wrapped cabin with hand-crafted trim – sounds like a luxury roadster of perhaps a retro cabriolet, right? It sure does, but this time around, the vehicle is a Land Rover Defender D90 “Desert Storm” extensively tuned by E.C.D. Automotive Design.
The tuner restored the used SUV to top condition and then equipped it with everything a hardcore off-roader may ever need. This included a heavy-duty Tubular A-bar front bumper complete with a bull bar, a Warn Industries VR12 winch, LED-based headlights, a 50mm (2”) suspension lift, an external roll cage, and a set of 20-inch Kahn Design Mondial Retro forged rims wrapped in BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A tires.
Powering the custom Defender is Chevrolet’s LS3 V8 engine we all know well from the company’s other projects. As we said above, the output amounts to 430 horsepower, or around 321 kilowatts.
The interior of the Land Rover Defender Desert Storm by E.C.D. takes advantage of ‘Berkshire Scarlet’ red/black combo leather trim. Features include a back-up camera, an Internet hotspot, USB ports, a wireless charger, and much more.
