Every sports car with at least a bit of self-respect has to complete a series of driving tests at the North Loop of the famed Nürburgring racing complex in Germany. Now, few in their sane mind would call the Land Rover Defender a sports car, but the fact remains a fact: the British SUV was seen on the Nordschleife just yesterday.
It looks like the company wanted to make sure its newest creation feels sufficiently at home on the asphalt, too. The spotters have actually managed to photograph two different 2020 Defenders: a three-seater and a five-seater. This confirms our earlier guess that both the 90 and the 110 versions will make it into the next generation. Rumors circulate that an eight-seat Defender 130 is also underway, but there has been no official confirmation to date.
The LR Defender 110 should be the first to premiere, with many of us expecting it to make an appearance at the 2019 International Motor Show Germany (IAA Frankfurt) kicking off on September 12, followed by a sales launch in the first half of 2020. The three-door version should follow shortly in the spring of 2020. The longest and largest Defender will likely take at least a year to follow.
