E.C.D. Automotive Design never fails to amaze us with its unswerving dedication to the restoration, styling and tuning of all kinds of Land Rover Defenders. In fact, there aren’t too many kinds to begin with; shouldn’t things at least get boring after a while? Not for the E.C.D. team, apparently. Just a few days ago, the guys have rolled out another work of automotive art, dubbed the Defender 130 Deep Blue.
The custom pickup truck owes its name to the dark blue paint it wears, which is originally an Aston Martin tint. Up front, there is a new bumper and bull bar (Tubular A-Bar), a winch (WARN Industries VR12), and powerful LED headlights. Then again, as long as we understand it correctly, the entire lighting set on this Defender is LED-based.
Other notable additions include larger running boards, underbody armor, a roll cage and a complete spare wheel conveniently attached to the tailgate.
Peek inside to discover Corbeau Trailcats heated/ventilated seats, a Momo Prototipo steering wheel, an All American Tradition Series instrument cluster giving off pleasant retro vibes, and a climate control system. The entire space is wrapped in warm beige-tinted Spinneybeck Pueblito & Botany Bay leather adorned with elegant stitching.
Like some previous E.C.D. vehicles, the truck rides on 20-inch Mondial Retro rollers wrapped in BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 rubber.
Rounding off the projects are new suspension, an engine swap (Chevrolet LS3 V8, 565 hp / 421 kW), a six-speed automatic transmission and a Borla exhaust system.
