Next-gen Land Rover Defender spied on a James Bond filming set

The next generation of the iconic Land Rover Defender series won’t be officially revealed until later this fall, but you can look at it right here, without any kind of test mule camouflage. The photographer claims he made these pics at the filming set of a new James Bond movie.

That said, we have seen quite a lot of the new Defender already, be it via the official teasers or spy photos made at the North Loop or in the midst of a desert.

The body-on-frame SUV will utilize the MLA platform made of aluminum and will feature independent (per-wheel) suspension. It will hit the market in three variants, namely the Defender 90, 110, and 130. At 4,323 mm (14.18 ft.) long, the 90 will be the most compact, followed by the 110 (4,758 mm / 15.61 ft.) and the 130 (5,100 mm / 16.73 ft.). The standard wheelbase will amount to 2,587 mm (8.49 ft.), while the LWB variant will have 3,022 mm (9.91 ft.) between the axles.

The powertrain range will consist of six options:

- gas @ 300 hp (224 kW), 400 Nm (295 lb-ft);
 - gas @ 400 hp (298 kW), 550 Nm (406 lb-ft);
 - diesel @ 200 hp (150 kW), 430 Nm (317 lb-ft);
 - diesel @ 240 hp (180 kW), 430 Nm (317 lb-ft);
 - diesel @ 300 hp (224 kW), 650 Nm (479 lb-ft);
 - hybrid @ 404 hp (301 kW), 645 Nm (476 lb-ft).

All six will ship with automatic transmissions and permanent AWD.
