‘World’s best’ tuned Defender goes up on sale for £245,000

Tom Hartley Jnr, a popular British car dealer, is looking for a new owner for this Land Rover Defender SVX ‘Spectre’ 4x4 Utility. The vehicle, which was built specifically for the James Bond movie Spectre, comes with a £245,000 price tag attached.

Co-designed with Bowler, it is also often dubbed ‘the world’s best tuned vehicle’. The production run amounted to 10 cars, but 3 were lost during the shooting of the film, so only 7 remain to date. All come powered by the same 2.2-liter diesel engine boosted from its standard 122 hp (91 kW) to 187 hp (139 kW).

As far as tuning goes, the Defender sports a purpose-designed roll cage, beadlock wheels, stout all-terrain tires, heavy-duty suspension with rally-grade shock absorbers, and sport seats with improved lateral support.

Despite the extensive list of changes, the car is fully road-legal, which means it will likely find an owner soon.
