Osprey helps a 27-year-old Defender 110 stay relevant

Osprey Custom Cars has taken an elderly Def 110 in for an overhaul, ending up with an SUV even new Def owners would be jealous of.

The powertrain landed with perhaps the most interesting upgrade, specifically a 6.2-liter LSA V8 capable of 608 PS (600 hp / 447 kW) and 786 Nm (580 lb-ft) of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission sends the power to both axles thanks to a dual-range transfer case.

Other important tech mods include new driveshafts, reinforced axles, shock absorbers and springs, as well as a revised steering system. Modern disc brakes ensure superior acceleration control, and enhanced noise proofing helps reduce strain and fatigue.

The restomod comes painted Alaskan White with grey accents, while the cabin makes use of black leather and Alcantara on the ceiling. Modern equipment includes climate control, a touch-enabled infotainment system, and a reversing camera.

The client must have paid a six-digit sum in U.S. dollars for the job.
