25 special Land Rover Defenders revive Camel Trophy memories

Land Rover Classic will be releasing 25 Defenders turned into Works V8 Trophy expedition SUVs styled after iconic off-road racers of the past.

The in-house tuner will work with the Defender 90 and 110 models produced between 2012 and 2016, landing each one with the same equipment and tech as the Defender Works V8 70th Edition that hit the market during the model’s 70th anniversary.

A 5.0-liter non-turbo V8 under the hood uses a ZF eight-speed auto transmission, a dual-range transfer case and enhanced differentials to hit the wheels with up to 405 PS (400 hp / 298 kW) and 515 Nm (380 lb-ft) of torque.

All cars will be painted Eastnor Yellow with Narvik Black accents. Other distinguishing features will include a retro-style radiator grille, 16-inch stainless steel wheels, mud tires, additional LED lights, a winch, an external roll cage, and a roof rack.

Open the door to discover Recaro seats wrapped in Windsor leather and adorned with yellow contrast stitching, an Elliot Brown clock, and a Classic Infotainment System with sat-nav and smartphone integration features.

All buyers will be invited over to the Land Rover Experience Centre in Eastnor Castle, Herefordshire, England, for participation in a three-day tournament.

Pre-orders are already running starting from £195,000.
