CarWOW has arranged another interesting quarter-mile race, pitting a Mercedes-Benz G 350 d up against a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and two generations of the Land Rover Defender.
The Wrangler is the outsider of the quartet with its petrol turbo-four hitting an eight-speed automatic transmission with 272 PS (268 hp / 200 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. The other three contenders run on diesel fuel.
The 350 d packs a turbo-six good for 286 PS (282 hp / 210 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft), which a nine-speed automatic transmission takes to the wheels.
The new Defender comes in its most basic spec that features a 2.0-liter Ingenium turbo diesel engine capable of 240 PS (237 hp / 176 kW) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission is eight-speed auto.
Rounding off the list is a classical Def armed with an old diesel mill worth 122 PS (121 hp / 90 kW) and 360 Nm (266 lb-ft) of torque, mated to a six-gear stick shift.
Watch the video, it’s rather entertaining! The CarWOW team even had to resort to photo finish to determine the winners in some of the races.
