Land Rover is getting ready to usher in the longest member of the Defender family. This 130 has been spotted next to the company’s NYC HQ.
At around 5.1 meters (16.73 feet) nose to tail, the car is 342 mm (13.36 inches) longer than the Defender 110 and 227 mm (8.87 inches) longer than the Mercedes S-Class. The wheelbase length stays the same as in the 110 model, and the spare centimeters all go into the rear overhang. Unlike the Def 110, which is featured in the video here, the 130 can take eight people aboard instead of seven.
The prototype comes powered by a three-liter petrol engine mated to a 48V starter for around 360 PS (355 hp / 255 kW) total. Diesel and PHEV options will also be available.
The production car will debut in a year in a number of premium and luxury trims.
