Arkonik is a tuning brand primarily associated with restoring vintage Land Rover Defenders, but, as it turns out, the company does not mind diversifying its business a little.
Meet the RNR Arkonik, a wristwatch with a housing made out of the metal that once had the shape of the right door of a 1984 Land Rover Defender (see video). A total of 300 such watches will be produced with Swiss mechanisms inside, priced at £1,012 each.
As should be expected, much in the design of the luxury item references the iconic off-roader. The chronometer contains tiny elements of its tires, radiator grille, chassis and fuel cap. As for the housing, it is more than just a coincidence that it uses the metal out of a 1984 Defender door: the history of Arkonik as a tuning and restoration shop began with this very model.
