Meet the Duckworth Aerover, a Defender motorhome with airplane-like body

Duckworth has unveiled the Aerover, the first in a series of motorhomes based on the Land Rover Defender 130 chassis and tech. The vehicle flaunts an exterior reminiscent of classic airplanes from the 1930s and is still a work in progress, because someone needs to buy it and pay for a custom interior first.

Everything you see on the photos has been made from scratch. There is not a single OEM detail in sight, and the entire bodywork – both external and internal – has been made by hand from aluminum sheets. The front fascia is the only element that hints at the classical Defender 130 heritage (watch the video and compare if you want).

The motorhome rides on air-cushioned suspension and uses a Td5 diesel engine with some upgrades. Those who would rather prefer to burn gasoline may order a BMW X5-engined version.

The developer claims the cabin will house centralized heating and conditioning systems, as well as a portable WC. Solar panels on the roof will generate power for the appliances on board. None of this can be added before a buyer is found, however, and we are very excited to learn how much it will cost and what it will look like when finished. Duckworth does not reveal these details at the moment.
