The new Defender had barely begun to sell when tuners launched a number of customization programs for it. Kahn Design’s subsidiary Chelsea Truck Company did not want to miss out and chimed in with an offer of its own.
The list of modifications begins with a body kit, with the boldly flared fenders being perhaps the biggest highlight. A new bumper, front grille and side air intakes pick up on the theme and create a consistent and stylish image. Both cars ride on 22-inch forged alloy wheels, but while the smaller Volcanic Grey Defender uses a set named Type 57 RS, the black 110 boasts more aggressive-looking Mondial Retro rollers.
In terms of equipment, both can offer a panoramic roof, heated seats, all-around view cameras, digital gauges and touch-enabled infotainment displays. Power in both cases comes from a 2.0-liter four-pot burning petrol for 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW), which an eight-speed transmission sends to the axles.
Chelsea Truck Company is offering the duo for sale right now. The Defender 90 costs just under £115,000 and the 110 comes in at £5,000 below that. The company points out that the former had around £35,000 worth of modifications installed and the latter around £50,000.
