Manhart’s latest take on the LR Defender rides on 24” wheels and packs 512 PS

Tuning company Manhart announced the coming of ten modified Land Rover Defenders called ‘DP 500’ to the market last year, along with showing us the first example (see video). The second DP 500 has only arrived now, and it looks nothing like the first one.

While the first tuned Def was your cookie-cutter ‘hardcore off-roader’ project, the new one prioritizes comfortable and fast urban driving and cares little about untrodden paths. To that end, it rocks giant 24-inch light alloy wheels shod in low-profile tires and has precious little ground clearance to spare for uneven terrain.

The interior comes retrimmed in an appealing leather/Alcantara combo and features special ergonomic seats with integrated airbags, cooling and heating functions.

Pop up the hood to discover a three-liter six-pot turbo burning gas for 512 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) and 710 Nm (524 lb-ft) of torque. To put things into perspective, the stock car makes do with 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft).

Which of the two DP 500s would you pick for yourself? The offroad one or this one?
