Land Rover has always been a name associated with off-road vehicles. The technologies and options developed by the company let most of its cars feel at ease where there is no asphalt. But some are bound to be better than others, right?
In the latest video by Carwow, a Defender goes up against a Range Rover in a series of acceleration and handling tests. The competition begins with a hill climb race followed by a hill descend test, maneuverability test, torque comparison and suspension test.
The RR makes use of a 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbocharged to deliver 530 PS (523 hp / 390 kW) and 730 Nm (538 lb-ft) of torque. The Defender benefits from a larger 5.0-liter V8 TT, but its output is comparable at 525 PS (518 hp / 386 kW) and 625 Nm (461 lb-ft). The Defender is also heavier at 2,603 kg (5,740 lbs), while the RR tips the scales at 2,510 kg (5,533 lbs).
