Another Land Rover Defender walks the path of the restomod thanks to E.C.D.

Florida-based restoration and tuning shop E.C.D. Automotive Design has been building and selling custom Land Rovers for years, and this Defender 90 dubbed ‘Project Freedom’ is one of their latest works.

The V8 that usually gets swapped in in these projects can be naturally aspirated, but the owner of this SUV ordered a supercharged LT4 V8 by General Motors. An eight-speed automatic transmission was tasked with delivering 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) to the four wheels. Speaking of the wheels, they are represented by Kahn Design 18-inch alloys wrapped in BF Goodrich off-road tires.

The exterior wears a custom widebody kit, and a four-point roll cage serves to improve overall safety. There is a heavy-duty bumper at the front end, skid plates all around and a bespoke exhaust system at the back. The tailgate accommodates a spare wheel and two flag holders.

A peek inside reveals vented Corbeau seats, a Momo steering wheel, and a new dashboard trimmed with leather. The infotainment system on board supports Apple gadgets.

E.C.D. neglected to mention the pricing, but similar works usually begin in the general vicinity of $200,000 USD.
