E.C.D. Automotive Design has introduced us to a cheery Land Rover Defender 110 finished in a tone that comes closest to the Subaru Sunshine Orange. Let’s have a closer look!
The vintage SUV received a new radiator grille painted to match the citrus exterior, new headlight and air intake bezels, and a black soft top to go with 16-inch Sawtooth wheels. For the tires, the choice fell on the popular BF Goodrich All-Terrain set.
Just as much love went into the interior, which the customer who ordered it preferred to maintain in calmer black-and-tan tones without any exterior-matching. The steering wheel, the seats, the dashboard and the radio are all modern, and the driver can use Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay or a USB connection to play back their own music.
Powering the off-roader is an LS3 V8 crate engine mated to a six-speed auto transmission. The suspension is air-cushioned and designed in the house, while the single-pipe stainless-tell exhaust system comes from Borla. There is no mention of power or performance, but we suspect that both are exceptionally good. If anything, that multi-point roll cage should be an indication.
Commenting on the release, E.C.D. emphasized that every vehicle it built was designed to be unique, a fact all the more impressive once you learn that the company is getting close to its 500th project.
