Land Rover Classic started churning out more classic Defender SUVs earlier this week that will doubtlessly be in demand among collectors and fans.
Called the Classic Defender Works V8 Islay Edition, the series imitates the original design of the vehicle that Spencer Wilks used to drive in the late 1960s. Wilks was the CEO of the Rover Company back at the time and presided over the development of the world’s first Land Rover model. For himself, he chose a grey Land Rover Series IIa to drive with white wheels.
Only 30 replicas will be made, each equipped with a V8 rated at 405 PS (400 hp / 299 kW) and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Out of these, there will be 17 Defender 90 models priced from £230,000 and 13 larger Defender 110 models starting from £245,000.
