Italian coachbuilder and tuner Ares Modena has unveiled an overlanding droptop with the Land Rover Defender DNA.
Based on the photos revealed, the car strongly resembles a park safari vehicle for tourists. It no longer has its fixed top and pillars, instead wearing a lightweight tube-frame with a tent draped over it. The cabin still has five passenger places, but the seats are new. The spare wheel has been moved to the hood.
All technical details remain to be revealed. That said, Ares Modena is no stranger to large-scale and sophisticated tuning projects. In summer 2022, it produced a heavily modded Defender (see video) with extra ride height, new wheels, adjustable suspension and a 5.3-liter V8 under the hood pumping out 380 PS (375 hp / 279 kW) and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque.
