Kahn Design is working on another version of its Flying Huntsman project. The three-door Land Rover Defender 90 will soon transform into a roofless Spyder model boasting a sports-car-style rear end.
The SUV will ditch its hardtop in favor of a removable tarpaulin top and a dual-hump body panel behind the seats. Kahn promises to keep the trunk volume the same in spite of the modifications. The result is being envisioned as the perfect ride for a day out on the beach – or a stylish Grand Tourer for an adventuring couple.
According to Kahn Design CEO and founder Afzal Kahn, the vehicle combines the classic features of British coachbuilding with a modern-day approach to design. Respect for tradition emanates not just from the exterior of the car, but from the very way it is being made: every body panel is shaped from aluminum by hand, rather than fabricated. As a result, building just one such vehicle takes around six months.
Only eight Flying Huntsman 90 Spyder units will be made in total, each with its own wheel design per the customers’ requests. If you have to ask about the pricing, you are probably not the target audience.
