Everrati completes its first electromod for the USA

The UK-based car restorer had brought us electric conversions of the Land Rover Defender before (see video), but it has now expanded its presence to the United States by delivering a similar car to a customer in Florida.

The donor vehicle was a 1971 Defender Series IIa. It ended up with a fully restored body and chassis and had its engine replaced with a 152-PS (150-hp / 112-kW) electric motor. The torque peaking at 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) may not be much by modern standards, but it is available instantly thanks to the e-motor and should make the off-roader quite capable both on the road and away from it.

The battery size was kept down to 60 kilowatt-hours, possibly to save weight. The company estimates range per charge at 241 km (150 miles). As for the restoration part, it was executed in a typical Everrati fashion with a nice soft top instead of a fixed roof, soft retro seats inside, a wood-trimmed steering wheel and teak floor lining in the back.

Everrati was founded in 2019 and has since specialized in building all kinds of electromods – restored, modified and electrified car classics. The tuner’s portfolio includes multiple gorgeous Porsche and Mercedes SL models brought back to life on battery power.
