SoFlo Jeeps is selling a rather unusual 2020MY Defender right now, with a number of serious off-road upgrades but a low-end engine under the hood. The car has roughly 5,700 km (3,550 miles) on the clock and goes for $99,000.
The seller claims that it’s the world’s only Defender to feature a 228mm (9-inch) lift while retaining all OEM features its adjustable air-ride suspension comes with from the factory. Apocalypse 6×6, the company behind the project, also outfitted the car with skid plates, a winch, side sills and steps, a roof rack, and aftermarket wheels. The five-spoke rims are finished in a shade of copper and come wrapped in all-terrain tires.
Unusually for such a project, the Defender makes do with an entry-level engine – a 2.0-liter turbo four-pot rated at 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft). An eight-speed automatic transmission carries the torque to all four wheels. In case you forgot, the latest Defender generation still has the V8 powertrain option available.
