Bonhams Auctions will be holding sales in July dedicated to a unique Land Rover Defender vehicle built for the movie SPECTRE starring James Bond. The car has been the centerpiece of some scenes and is therefore going to cost its new owner at least U.S. $320,000.
The exterior of this particular Land Rover Defender has been designed in the car tuning atelier Bowler with some participation on behalf of LR’s own subdivision, SVO. It follows the racing specification and comes equipped with two roll cages (on the outside and inside), 37-inch off-road tires, rally-grade shock absorbers, four-point safety belts, and Recaro seats.
The stock diesel engine of the vehicle has been forced by 65 hp (48 kW) to a total of 187 hp (139 kW) and 499 Nm (368 lb·ft) of torque. This must have resulted in a significant acceleration performance boost, but no figures are provided.
Along with the Land Rover Defender SVX Spectre, the winning bidder is going to get the original number plate from the movie, the filming schedule, an empty maintenance booklet and the documents.
