Ares Design has recently finished an 8-week project dedicated to the visual and technical overhaul of the Land Rover Defender. The vehicle has got an engine performance boost, a custom body kit and new interior design.
The hood cover of the improved Land Rover Defender opens up to reveal a 4.7-liter V8 engine capable of 278 hp (207 kW) and almost 440 Nm (325 lb·ft) of torque. The engine used to have only 4.5 liters of displacement room prior to the installation of a new piston assembly, camshaft and injectors.
There is also an improved outlet manifold, a new exhaust system opening into four pipes, sport catalysts, high-pressure shock absorbers, heavy-duty brakes and 18-inch wheels clad in Cooper tires.
The new body kit consists of enlarged wheel arches, new bumpers, hood cover, radiator grille, steel roof railings and kick plates, a stronger tow bar, restyled front lights, and a bottom plate. Many of these parts are made of carbon.
The interior of the vehicle makes use of leather and carbon and features custom seats. To maximize the interior space, Ares Design has replaced the handbrake with its electronic counterpart.
The entire upgrade costs nearly U.S. $250,000.
