Jaguar Land Rover will not be releasing the extreme SVX version of its Discovery SUV. The manufacturer had initially promised to make it available last year.
The car had been designed to take advantage of a high-end V8 engine, however, the company decided not to offer any V8s for its entire SUV range anymore. The
“SVX” trim suffix might still be used by future releases, though.
When it debuted at a motor show, the Land Rover Discovery SVX Concept came equipped with a potent 5.0-liter V8 engine rated at 525 hp (391 kW) and connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It also featured air suspension, center and rear differentials, active roll bars, and a drive mode selector.
In early 2019, Jaguar Land Rover said it would not be releasing the three-door Range Rover SV Coupe series it had planned to limit to 999 units.
