Tuner Chieftain has made a name for itself building comprehensive Range Rover restomods, but this 700-HP (522-kW) Chieftain Extreme is still something else.
There is precious little that remains of the two-door Range Rover Classic: even the chassis and suspension are all-new, designed from the ground up. AP Racing brakes provide proper deceleration, and the body wears a fresh paint coat alongside a new kit. Six-spoke in-house designed rims fill out the arches, shod in BFGoodrich All-Terrain rubber.
The engine bay is where things truly get interesting. The restomod relies on a supercharged 6.2-liter LS3 V8 for propulsion, rated at 700 PS (690 hp / 515 kW). A Range Rover Classic swapped to a naturally aspirated version of this engine (such as the one featured in the video here) can sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.2 seconds and reach 209 km/h (130 mph). With the supercharger nearly doubling the power, the numbers are going to be much more exciting.
We do not know how much the Chieftain Extreme cost to create, but the company usually charges slightly more than $200,000 USD for the regular version.
