Range Rover Classic made compliant with the Ultra-Low Emission Zone of London

Renowned Range Rover specialist Kingsley Cars is offering two restoration programs for the Classic version of the SUV that makes it eligible for entering the ULEZ (Ultra-Low Emission Zone) of London.

Unlike other similar projects that either put a cap on the performance of the car or switch it to electric power, the approach practiced by Kingsley Cars involves keeping the stock naturally aspirated eight-cylinder under the hood with some modifications. The 4.0-liter variant ends up with 223 PS (220 hp / 164 kW), while the larger 4.6-liter mill has 274 PS (270 hp / 202 kW). A four-speed automatic transmission with a Borg Warner transfer case delivers the momentum to the wheels in either case.

Fuel economy is acceptable, but not spectacular, maxing out at 25 MPG (9.4 liters of gasoline per 100 km) under ideal conditions.

As usual, customers can specify body kit parts they like, choose an interior trim and put a number of modern options inside the SUV, including a back-up camera, a 700W audio system and an infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay support. Prices start from £125,000, and one conversion takes 6-8 months to make.
