A 44-year-old Range Rover Mk1 with three doors and the same number of axles has cropped up on auction in the UK with the bidding currently at £12,500.
Tony Miles created the ride for the BBC Radio 1 roadshow, although the specific reveal date is not stated. The seller says multiple magazines wrote about the car back in 2017.
The spacing between the first and the second axles stays the same, with the third axle added in the back as an afterthought. This results in a longer body with a couple of additional pillars for integrity. The cabin stays virtually unchanged, too, with the exception of a seriously swollen trunk. As such, the car should lend itself perfectly to picnics and tailgate parties.
A 3.9-liter Perkins diesel conveys up to 82 PS (81 hp / 60 kW) to the wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. We are told only four out of the six wheels are driven, however.
The seller points out that, while drivable, the car needs some maintenance including new wiring and a fresh paint coat.
