Range Rovers aren’t exactly known for their longevity, so seeing a 30+ year old SUV on the streets is rare. That said, restoration workshops like E.C.D. Automotive Design prefer the term ‘exclusive’.
The Range Rover pictured here is a year 1990 model that underwent a complete restoration inside and out, ending up with a somewhat backdated exterior. The roof rack in particular, along with the Avocado Green exterior, large mud flaps and a skid plate, remind us of the 1970s.
Power for the restomod is provided by a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine, a staple of most such projects. E.C.D. neglected to mention the output, but the crate engine delivers at least 435 PS (429 hp / 320 kW) and 576 Nm (425 lb-ft) of torque in its most basic form. A six-speed automatic transmission is tasked with delivering the momentum to the wheels, and the suspension is air-cushioned.
The interior is where the vintage theme especially shines. The seats are wrapped in a combination of off-green plaid fabric and brown Nappa leather. The instrument cluster, the radio and the speaker set are all new, but you will be hard pressed to notice it because of the retro styling.
The pricing details remain unknown.
