Another Range Rover gets a V8 transplant from E.C.D.

E.C.D. Auto Design has gotten its hands on an old-school Range Rover from the 1990s and rebuilt it with a powerful modern engine under the hood.

The exterior has been resprayed in an elegant, slightly greyish shade of blue with a black top for contrast and matching 18-inch glossy wheels from Kahn Design shod in Continental rubber. Other than that, the body looks rather understated compared to other similar projects.

The interior, on the other hand, looks nothing like it did with beige Nappa leather on the seats, seat heating, a Sony infotainment unit hooked up to a modern audio system, USB ports, wireless Internet and an induction phone charger. The driver will know to appreciate having a reversing camera and a remote engine start function in an old SUV like this.

As for the engine, all we know is that it is a V8 coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission and driving all four wheels as it’s supposed to in a Range Rover. The power isn’t specified anywhere, but knowing E.C.D., they consider the LS3 mill with its 435 PS (430 hp / 320 kW) as ‘baseline’ for most projects. It only goes up from there with forced induction.
