456 PS and a sub-5-second sprint: This Range Rover electromod is no slouch

Tuning company Inverted has worked with a 1990 Range Rover 2-Door model, restoring the classic off-roader and swapping the ICE powertrain for an electric one sourced from Tesla.

The result is a car that sends 456 PS (450 hp / 335 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels. It sprints from zero to 96.6 km/h (60 mph) in less than five seconds. The transmission benefits from revised gear ratios and a limited-slip differential, but sends the torque to both axles as usual.

The range is estimated at a low 320 km (200 miles). Charging from a 75kW source replenishes the battery from 20 to 80 percent in 38 minutes.

Other notable updates include bodywork, suspension and brakes. The interior is also modern with a handy infotainment display, an AC, an audio system and even cruise control. The trunk area is occupied by a bench seat.

The frame and the chassis avoided major modifications, so owners can revert the changes if they ever feel like it.

And then there is the asking price, which comes to an eye-watering $312,000.
