The Range Rover Evoque is perhaps the first vehicle in the premium mini-SUV segment to comply with the new, stricter environmental standard called the RDE2, which enters in legal force in January 2020.
The new Evoque is currently running CO2 emission tests equipped with a 2.0-liter diesel engine rated at 147 hp (110 kW) linked to an AWD system and manual transmission.
According to the RDE2 regulations, all vehicles must produce no more than 80 milligrams of NOx emissions per kilometer traveled. Range Rover claims its new Evoque fits into this criterion.
Reportedly, the engineer team has succeeded in meeting the standard thanks to a new engine layout and the introduction of the AdBlue filtering system based on soot filters that capture nearly 100% of the soot produced.
