3rd-gen Range Rover Sport depicted drifting among snowdrifts

The latest spy photos don’t just provide a good view of the upcoming SUV, but also manage to catch the moment when the test driver felt adventurous enough to send his ride drifting into a corner.

What we cannot say for sure is whether this is the finalized appearance of the 2022 Range Rover Sport or a test mule (new chassis, old bodywork). Most agree that the next generation will be reminiscent of the Range Rover Velar range.

The new Sport will not be getting a V8 in its 2022 spec; that engine will be reserved exclusively for the main Range Rover lineup. Rumor has it that the company will be using a BMW V8, but there is no confirmation yet.

The company delayed the market launch until 2022 because of the difficulties associated with moving the Range Rover Sport to the new MLA platform. The second-gen SUV will continue to be available until that year, and will even be getting two electrified (hybrid) modifications this spring.
