JLR has officially unveiled the third generation of the Range Rover Sport, which expectedly received a number of gimmicks we first saw on the RR flagship that debuted last fall.
The car comes based on MLA-Flex architecture and benefits from such standard features air-ride suspension and rear-wheel steering. In the United States, the model will be available with a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine rated at 360 PS (355 hp / 265 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is a part of a mild hybrid system.
Another option comes in the form of an engine rated at 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. There is also a plug-in hybrid spec with 440 PS (434 hp / 324 kW) and 839 Nm (620 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal, which offers up to 80 km (50 miles) of battery range.
Finally, shelling out on the top specification nets you the P530 First Edition, an SUV packing eight cylinders, 4.4 liters of displacement, 530 PS (523 hp / 390 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque. Regardless of your engine choice, the transmission will be eight-speed automatic and both axles will be driven.
The interior shows upmarket Land Rover influences here and there, such as a large 13.7-inch dashboard screen and a 13.1-inch curved infotainment display.
