The ultimate Range Rover Sport set to debut on May 31

Land Rover has posted an official teaser video dedicated to the upcoming high-end special edition of the Range Rover Sport. Such vehicles were traditionally given the ‘SVR’ suffix, but the abbreviation has now been trimmed down to ‘SV’.

What the company claims is its fastest and most technologically advanced RR Sport model in history is slated for reveal on May 31, 2023. The video shows some test SUVs running around on asphalt, snow and desert sand without any comment from the company. The description says the Range Rover will take advantage of technologies that will be truly groundbreaking not only for this particular SUV lineup, but for the SUV market as a whole.

In its current guise, the RR Sport uses a 4.4-liter BMW V8 producing 530 PS (523 hp / 390 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque after some modifications. It sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.5 seconds.

Earlier rumors had claimed that the top spec might also wind up with a BMW engine, possibly an X5 M mill rated above 600 horsepower (450 kilowatts)
