Land Rover will unveil the new Range Rover Sport SV in late May, but in the meantime, you can already catch a glimpse of a pre-production car cruising on the North Loop.
The SV still wears camo, but it looks like most of the fake bodywork is gone now and the body is largely finalized for production.
Unofficial sources are reporting that the new Sport SV will trade its 5.0-liter V8 for a 4.4-liter BMW counterpart. If so, the mild-hybrid S68 mill seems to be the likeliest candidate. There’s also the S63, but the Bavarian company is already phasing it out.
In earlier news, the carmaker confirmed that the ultimate Range Rover Sport would receive a shorter model suffix in its next generation, which is why we are calling it SV and not SVR like before.
