German tuner B&B Automobiltechnik released a Stage 2 power upgrade for the Range Rover Velar P380 last summer, persuading the SUV to exert 450 hp (336 kW) along with 660 Nm (443 lb×ft) of torque. A few days ago, the same shop released a similar boost kit for the range-topping SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition.
In its factory form, the latter comes equipped with a supercharged gasoline V8 engine good for 550 hp (410 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb×ft) of torque. The tuner offers an increase to 625 hp (466 kW) and 780 Nm (575 lb×ft) by means of various supercharger tweaks, increasing the boost pressure, improving the air intake system, and remapping the ECU. As a result, the bulky luxury SUV should be able to make it from nothing to 100 km/h (62 mph) in four seconds flat, if not less.
B&B also ships a Stage 1 package for those who are fine with the basic chip tuning. in this case, the resulting performance amounts to 580 hp (433 kW) and 720 Nm (531 lb×ft) of torque.
To help the vehicle cope with its newfound power, the tuner recommends purchasing in-house designed six-piston performance brakes, installing larger wheels (available up to 22 inches), and lowering the suspension. You may choose between the regular lowering springs (-30 mm / -1.2 inches) and height-adjustable coilovers (-30 to -50 mm, or -1.2…2 inches). If your Range Rover Velar has air suspension, B&B will also lower it by 30 to 50 mm (-1.2…2 inches) as long as you want it.
