Land Rover has decided the fate of its Velar CUV, Autocar reports. The next generation will emerge before 2025 and be completely electric.
The new crossover SUV lineup will be based on a more wallet-friendly platform called EMA, which is designed to accommodate its battery pack inside the floor. Fast charging is on the list of features as well, and the company says it is working on new, particularly efficient e-motors that would enable it to maximize driving range.
Per Autocar, work on the EMA architecture has been ongoing for a year already. The first test vehicles are expected on the streets very soon. Once it debuts, the Range Rover Velar EV will mainly compete against the Porsche Macan EV in its market segment.
