German graffiti artist René Turrek has finished working on turning a latest-gen Lexus UX SUV into an art car. The vehicle now boasts an original abstract-themed livery that should reportedly ‘symbolize the unstoppable movement of the Lexus brand into the future.’
The artist needed over 140 hours to turn the Lexus into a work of art. He has spent over 100 spray paint cans and nearly 1.6 km (1 mile) of painter’s tape in the process.
The work is called ‘The Way of the Samurai’. The right side of the car boasts vivid neon stripes that can absorb sunlight and then glow in the dark for a while. The driver’s side wears a humble shade of grey, but a sufficiently bright light source (such as a flash on your smartphone, for example) can make it shimmer resplendent silvery-white.
Backing up the name of the project is a black line zigzagging along the left side of this Lexus UX, conceptualized as a trajectory of a moving samurai sword.
