The Japanese luxury carmaker unveiled its first-ever MPV, the LM, in April 2019. Today, pre-order books open in China starting from 1,166,000 Yuan (170,000 USD).
First shipments will be made in February. The car itself is essentially a rebadged Toyota Alphard, restyled specifically for China where deluxe single-compartment vehicles are a lucrative market segment.
Compared to its mundane donor, the Lexus LM boasts different headlights, an enormous radiator grille, exclusive wheels, and a redesigned rear end.
Inside, there is a partition wall with a 26-inch display on it separating the rows of captain’s chairs. Also on board are a fridge and several touch panels providing access to various in-car functions.
The Lexus LM currently only ships with a hybrid powertrain based on a 2.5-liter gas engine and twin electric motors. An ICE version based on a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 will arrive later.
