Lexus has shared teaser images of its upcoming battery off-roader named the RZ. It is shaping up to become the third production car based on the e-TNGA platform after the Toyota bZ4X and the Subaru Solterra. The launch date remains to be announced.
While the abovementioned crossover duo share a virtually identical appearance, the RZ looks like it will be markedly different with a Lexus grille, slim headlights and L-shaped DRLs. It will also sport sculpted sides, redesigned c-pillars and a different tail end with a modern brake light strip.
Technical parameters haven’t arrived yet. Both the bZ4X and the Solterra come in single- and dual-motor variants, rated at 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) and 217 PS (214 hp / 160 kW), respectively. Lexus may well want to make the RZ more powerful to highlight its premium status.
The chassis may also get a few tweaks, seeing how the RZ is being marketed as a model that ‘redefines EV standards’ and is tailored towards a novel, emotional driving experience. As such, it should offer the levels of comfort and steering ease associated with the Lexus brand.
