Lexus briefly showed us this unusual ATV at a press conference in October, and has now followed up with details.
Dubbed the ROV (Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle), it uses a one-liter internal combustion engine that burns hydrogen instead of petrol. The company points out that it combines the advantage of sounding like an ICE car with near-zero emissions (produced by the minuscule amounts of burning motor oil).
The technology appears to be borrowed from Toyota and resembles the one mentioned in our article from earlier today. Rumor has it Toyota plans to start mass-producing these engines in three years.
The photos reveal that the prototype has a removable windshield, coilovers, meaty tires and additional LEDs on the roof. There is also a roll cage, sports-ready steering wheel and seats, an analog dashboard, and paddle shifters.
