Senior management of the Japanese car giant Toyota is seriously considering a product range expansion for its upper-market brand Lexus. More precisely, it wants to get into the luxury marine yacht industry.
The corresponding announcement was made by Shigeki Tomoyama, Vice Executive President of Toyota. No further information was given, but it stands to reason that the first production marine vehicle to be released by Lexus is going to be based on the Lexus Sport Yacht concept which debuted a year ago in Miami, U.S.A. That one could accommodate up to 13 passengers and came with two 5.0-liter V8s remodeled from the Lexus LC 500 coupe and capable of up to 897 hp.
Should a Lexus yacht be released, it is likely going to be even more powerful and up-to-date than the concept model, and come with 15 passenger seats.
