It is official: The last Lexus GS will roll off the assembly lines in August 2020, never to come back into production again. As a way of saying goodbye, the Japanese luxury carmaker will be issuing a special edition called Eternal Touring.
The GS will get numerous features from the performance-oriented GS F series in this limited run, including a larger radiator grille, a rear spoiler, and 19-inch wheels wrapped in tires that are wider at the rear axle. The interior will make use of leather, Alcantara and carbon fiber. The equipment list will also include adaptive LED headlights and blind zone monitoring.
The Eternal Touring series will encompass two gasoline specs (GS300 and GS350) and all hybrids. Sales in Japan will begin in June, and it remains open whether any international shipments will be made.
The original Lexus GS debuted in 1993, and the current generation came out in 2011. Watch the video by Kirk Kreifels for a more detailed overview of the model.
